Is your teenager isolating in his/her room & playing video games?
Has she stopped talking to you about what’s going on in her life?
Are you getting short, snarky answers like “I’m fine, just leave me alone” as he looks down at his phone or slams the door?
Do you wonder if it could be more than just teenage hormones and angst?
Being a teenager these days (and a parent of one) is rough. I show up for teens and families as a real person working flexibly and collaboratively. I often include caregivers in family meetings. I have had success in building an alliance with teens & creating a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration & growth.
I have nearly 20 years of experience supporting teens and families, both in educational and mental health settings, with managing mood disorders, anxiety, identity issues, ADHD, PTSD and relationship challenges with friends and family. I integrate various modalities into my work with teens including creative expression (journaling, art, music, etc..), CBT, mindfulness practices and EMDR. I am very passionate about working with teens and would love the opportunity to support your teen & family.
